This program automates the following tasks:
- This program performs the following analysis on Quantum Design .dat files:
- Converts the moment data into units specified by the user, or to susceptibility.
- Identifies datasets corresponding to M vs T experiments and performs Curie-Weiss analysis, based on linear fitting ranges specified by the user
- Repeats this analysis with the modified Curie-Weiss law, enabling users to compare the two sets of results
- Optionally uses a median filter to remove outliers from the fitting calculations
- Identifies datasets corresponding to M vs H experiments, which will subsequently be plotted
- Removes a linear component to account for diamagnetic contributions, enabling users to compare the two sets of results
- Converts the moment data into units specified by the user, or to susceptibility.
- The program then generates the following outputs:
- A folder containing CSVs of each experimental dataset, that may be used for any subsequent calculations
- A folder containing Python plots of each experimental dataset, and the linear fits used in Curie Weiss analysis
- A folder containing Origin graphs of the above data, exported as .png files
- An Origin project containing the above graphs
- A Word document containing the Origin graphs, and tables of the calculated Curie-Weiss parameters
- A PowerPoint presentation containing the Origin graphs.
This program is in the following format:
- A Python program, which is operated via an Excel interface.
- We have developed this program architecture in order to enable usage of the program without knowledge of coding.
- All elements of the program are packaged in an installer application.
- Consequently, installation is as simple as double clicking the installer icon, and selecting your preferred options in the Wizard that will appear.
- The installation process and the benefits of this architecture are demonstrated in the Program Installation and Architecture Video.
This program has the following system requirements:
- Origin 2021 or later.
- Microsoft Excel (not Libre Office or other equivalents).
Instructions to use this program are found:
- In the Manual and QuickStart Guide that are included with the program
- In the form of the Program Demonstration Video.
The following additional files are included with this download:
- Two example data files on which to test the program.
- Origin, Word and PowerPoint templates that determine the appearance of the outputs, and may be modified by the user.
- A Python distribution, to ensure that the program works immediately after running the installer, and no setup is required by users.
